VdA and VdA Academia, VdA's corporate academy, organise the Aviation Law course, together with the European Law Students' Association (ELSA) chapter at the Portuguese Catholic University in Lisbon, with the support of Católica Global School of Law.
This course presents a multidisciplinary approach to Aviation Law, combining the legal component with the technical, economic and political aspects associated with the aviation sector. The Aviation Law course integrates international and national experts – including Professor Pablo Mendes de Leon, Head of the Air and Space Law department at the University of Leiden and several VdA lawyers – as well as representatives of various operators and of the regulatory authority.
During a week (24th - 28th July 2017), 40 students from various European countries will be able to learn the main topics of Aviation Law in an innovative course in Portugal.
At VdA the course is being organised by Magda Cocco, partner at the TMT practice area, also responsible for the Privacy, Data Protection and Cybersecurity practice area and for the Aerospace sector, and by Marília Frias, senior associate at the Projects – Infrastructures, Energy and Natural Resources practice area, with relevant experience in advising clients in the aviation sector. Other VdA lawyers will also be delivering lectures at the Aviation Law course, including Inês Antas de Barros, managing associate at the TMT and Privacy, Data Protection and Cybersecurity practice areas, Tiago Correia Moreira, managing associate at the Banking & Finance practice area, Rita Aleixo Gregório, managing associate at the Competition & EU practice area and Helena Correia Mendonça, principal consultant at the TMT practice area, with relevant experience in the aerospace sector.
One of the days of Aviation Law Course sessions will take place at VdA’s Lisbon office.
